this was on the front page of freep.com this morning - sadly there are some factual errors in this article that people will jump on (not allowed to go to college was in original article for instance - hopefully the reporter will correct it).

It depends on the hall you go to as to whether or not they will frown on college or turn a blind eye. However, think about it, about 5 years ago Mr. Tight Pants Tony was really coming down on higher education, so they may have really had issues. We knew of several families in our old hall that became inactive since they wanted kids to go to college (their son was removed from pioneer list and had no privileges for going to community college)

People tend to miss vital words: Number one, the title. Its a suggestion of the friends that the shunning may have pushed this woman to murder. So, NO--- I personally do not think the writer was out of line in her report. She provided background info as to the possible reasons WHY she may have lost it, and did not excuse the woman of the heinous crime it was--- however, when you kill yourself and your family- hell YES- you have serious mental illness. Well, geeeeesh people--- Most Jehovah's Witnesses do suffer with mental illness and yes, some have gone overboard as we all know... it's about time those freakin idiots in NY answer for this crap!!! Shove these articles and tons of other ones up their rear ends. I am so sick of reading about stuff like this and the child abuse etc and they continue to sit on their high ass thrown's in Warwick. They are sick bastards.
jw funeral last night.
it was about half an hour from start to finish.
they opened with basic facts about the person.
I hear you loud and clear. Just attended a dear friends funeral (they were unaware of me being faded out since we live in different states) The funeral was terrible... just TERRIBLE. I would say there was about 4 minutes of talking about the deceased in this one and then BAM straight into the cult propaganda. I felt physically nauseous! Afterward it was so surreal--- people just went about the hall like they had just got done with a boring stupid meeting... it was pathetic. I can't tell you how glad I am to be awake and out of all that BS!! Even in DEATH the WT has say over you... its just sooooo sick.
the other day my wife and i were in sonoma.
we were just walking around enjoying the pleasant afternoon in the quaint, old downtown area when i saw two jw women standing by their “witnessing cart.” .
normally, i just ignore them whenever i see jws standing by a cart, but i gotta admit it: this time it really bugged me because of the title on the cart: find family happiness.
I would not have been able to hold back either--- however, I would have been more calm when approaching. I would have said I love the title of their little cart, and how I wish I could agree that this was the case with JW's, but its NOT. How does shunning family create happiness... etc etc
my turning point: serving on a child abuse judicial case.

THIS FACE on TV started my WAKE UP PROCESS. Had no idea who the hell this buffoon was until he showed his face on the broadcast... next, Tony Morris tight pants talk, the odd mentions of child abuse on the broadcast, and finally the Australian Royal Commission sealed the deal. So glad to be awake from this!!!

Mental clarity---- YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT! Good points. In a way, helping someone become "weak" may prove a great way to help them wake... lol How about suggesting a little family get a way on the weekends and skip service and the meetings... yEsssssSSS lol

I wish there was a way to do what you've asked, but realistically--- the answer is how many have commented above. There is NO one way to wake anyone up, more less a whole group of people. Small "awakenings" or shakes of the mind seem to work the best. When someone is in a deep sleep- for instance, they have been sedated for a surgery or such- you have to jostle them several times to help them awake... you call out their name several times and gently shake them a bit. Once they kind of nod or make sounds as to coming awake- you know they are going to come out of it, but it takes time for the meds to wear off. Witnesses are in a very deep coma like sleep when it comes to indoctrination. Its a process- but don't underestimate an individual- some people wake very easily depending on what sort of "force" the info presented had on their mind and heart. I think getting INFO like TTATT is really vital. JW.FACTS is an awesome tool and so many other sites like this one! Drop little pieces of info at a time and keep that shake and wake in mind when doing so--- you never know!
I especially liked all the little "easter eggs" in this lovely production! GREAT JOB exposing the insanity of the JW's and the blatant hypocrisy!
a letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.
